Environment
We call ourselves Eceau for a very good reason. At Eceau we look to provide water solutions that will provide you with quality and cost effective products that will also help to reduce climate change. A donation is made from every purchase made from Eceau in favour of the registered charity Change for Climate Change. Kuna, who make our purifiers also have ISO 14001 approval environmental accreditation.Bottled Water
We look to replace bottled water wherever we can, in the home, office, in restaurants and hotels by installing our Kuna Cleone ® water purifiers which produce the purest water on site at a very attractive cost. The Pure water can then be chilled and or carbonated to be used to fill re-usable glass Eceau branded bottles. A recent study commissioned by the government shows that a well know brand of bottled water produces an average of 500 grams of CO2 emissions per litre. This includes extraction from source, treatment, transport, manufacture and disposal of the glass bottles. By comparison our Kuna Cleone ® purifiers produce less than 20 grams of CO2 emissions to produce one litre of pure water, a reduction of 96%.
Whilst glass bottle recycling is strongly preferred to disposal less than 30% of glass bottles are actually recycled out of the 750,000 tonnes of glass that is collected each year in the UK.
Plastic bottles made from PET or APET used for bottled water are now a very significant concern for environmentalists, one only has to look at the Great Pacific Garbage patch to see what such waste is doing to our planet. In the broad expanse of the northern Pacific Ocean, there exists the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre, a slowly moving, clockwise spiral of currents created by a high-pressure system of air currents. The area is an oceanic desert, filled with tiny phytoplankton but few big fish or mammals. Due to its lack of large fish and gentle breezes, fishermen and sailors rarely travel through the gyre. But the area is filled with something besides plankton: trash, millions of tonnes of it, most of it plastic. It's the largest landfill in the world, and it floats in the middle of the ocean. Scientists estimate the area to be six times the size of England.
