Health
Next to Oxygen water is the essential ingredient of life, without water there is no life.Water circulates our bodies acting as a transporter feeding our cells with nutrients, flushing away toxins and waste products. It lubricates our joints and controls body temperature. We are born in water and each day our life functions use between 2 and 2.7 litres of water. We even need water to breathe as air must be saturated with water before it reaches our lungs.
A decrease of as little as 2% in our body's water supply can have harmful effects and cause symptoms of dehydration, such as daytime fatigue, excess thirst, poor memory, difficulty focusing on tasks or making simple decisions, light-headedness, and nausea.
In the UK mains water is reputed to be of the highest quality in Europe but this is quite a generalisation. Less than 1% of mains water is consumed as drinking water so it is no surprise there is a need to further treat water to take it back to how nature intended it to be.
Eceau’s purifiers do exactly that and they do it without the use of any chemicals whatsoever. Mains water contains a very long list of “permitted” impurities and additives that most of us are not aware of. The water authorities do not disguise this in any way and we can all freely access reports from the Drinking Water Inspectorate that demonstrate this.
Chlorine, without it one cannot imagine the quality of mains water, it does a very good job in sanitising soiled water and getting it to our houses. However chlorine not only has an objectionable taste and odour but also produces by-products called trihalomethanes which are invisible and tasteless but toxic.
Heavy metals such as cadmium and lead inevitably leach from pipes and solder joints, our bodies have no way of disposing of these elements.
Pesticides can reach water-bearing aquifers below ground from crop spraying, seepage of contaminated surface water, accidental spills and leaks or improper disposal. According to reports from the World Health Organisation it is clear that a whole host of pesticides are present in mains water however so far the effects on our health are largely unknown.
A report from the Drinking Water Inspectorate on pharmaceuticals in drinking water is available from our download page. Drugs in our mains water are perhaps one of the greatest concerns, the list includes a cancer chemotherapy drug called Bleomycin, the sedative Diazepam, the anti-depressant Prozac and Steroid Oestrogens.
Some plastic water bottles are known to leach Bisphenol A (BPA), a synthetic chemical that interferes with the body’s natural hormonal messaging system.
There are literally hundreds of other more or less harmful contaminants in our mains water.
Our Cleone ® purifiers will remove up to 99% of ALL of these leaving you with Pure water.
